The questions that arise from this intervention are the preservation of the building identity, the criteria its public use and conservation, and restoration of its architectural and structural elements. The intervention aims to highlight its great architectural quality, but reveling to the user the different development stages. The proposal is based in a value judgment on the relative importance of the existing buildings; this judgment is fundamented on its own history. The proposal presupposes the maintenance of Lota/Bolsa do Pescado buildings. The new building for rooms is to be understood as an operation on a given date, and to be held as another phase, having its own autonomy and highlighting a natural dialog with the pre-existing buildings, and the surroundings.
